What we do and how we work
AfriYAN Ethiopia connects young people across the country to lead advocacy, build skills, and strengthen youth participation in decisions that shape our future. We work with partners and youth networks to turn community needs into action.
Who we are
On August 29, 2024 in Addis Ababa, AfriYAN Ethiopia was launched to strengthen youth leadership and meaningful participation. Supported by UNFPA and implemented by TaYA, the chapter brings young leaders together to champion youth rights and help shape decisions that affect their lives.
Our work focuses on sexual and reproductive health and rights and gender equality through advocacy, policy dialogue, capacity building, and nationwide networking. We connect youth initiatives across regions to turn community priorities into action and build stronger pathways for inclusion.
AfriYAN Ethiopia has united youth to deliver practical impact through training sessions, awareness campaigns, community outreach, blood drives, and humanitarian support in IDP camps. We have also engaged in conferences and collaborative projects that amplify youth voices, strengthen partnerships with civil society, universities, and international organizations, and promote meaningful participation.
