On August 12, 2026, AfriYAN Ethiopia, in partnership with TaYA and in collaboration with the Dire Dawa Administration Youth and Sport Commission and the Dire Dawa Youth Council, celebrated International Youth Day 2026 in Dire Dawa.
The celebration brought young people together to connect, share ideas, learn from one another, and celebrate the power and potential of youth. It created a meaningful space for young people to raise their voices, exchange experiences, build connections, and reflect on the important role they play in shaping their communities and driving positive change.
Celebrating Youth Voices and Leadership
The event highlighted the importance of youth engagement, leadership, collaboration, and meaningful participation. Participants were encouraged to take an active role in addressing challenges within their communities and contributing to a better future.
The celebration also provided an opportunity for young people to strengthen connections, learn from shared experiences, and recognize the collective potential of youth to contribute to positive social change.
